PHSE is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Import Coordinator to join our growing team specializing in life science logistics, including pharmaceuticals, biologics, and medical devices. This position is critical to ensuring compliant and efficient movement of regulated goods across U.S. borders.Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate import shipments from global origins to the U.S., ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements.
- Interface with US Customs, FDA, USDA, and other government agencies to secure timely release of shipments.
- Review and process shipping documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, air waybills (AWBs), and dangerous goods declarations (DGDs).
- Verify and apply appropriate HTS codes (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) to incoming shipments to ensure proper classification and duty assessments.
- Work closely with customs brokers to clear shipments and resolve holds or queries.
- Communicate proactively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to provide shipment visibility and address any issues.
- Maintain accurate records and compliance documentation per regulatory standards.
Required Skills & Experience

- 2+ years of experience in import coordination, preferably in pharmaceuticals, biotech, or other life sciences sectors.
- Solid understanding of U.S. import compliance, including interaction with U.S. Customs, FDA, and USDA.
- Proficiency in HTS code classification and understanding of its impact on duties and admissibility.
- Familiarity with import filing systems and documentation, such as entry summaries, CBP forms, and related records.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
- Strong communication skills for effective coordination with customs brokers, government agencies, and clients.
